SFP-BATCH PRINTER 2.2
=====================
Print lots of PDFs, images and documents in one go, and confirm that every
one of them really printed.

Free for personal / non-commercial use. Business use: free 30-day trial,
then a license is required (see LICENSE.txt, or "License / About" in the app).

No installation needed. Extract the zip, keep this whole folder together and
double-click SFP-BatchPrinter.exe. Works on Windows 10 and 11 (64- and 32-bit).
The folder can live anywhere: Desktop, USB stick, shared drive or another PC.

HOW TO USE
----------
1. Add files:
   - Drag PDFs, images or whole folders onto the window, OR
   - "Add files" to pick files, OR
   - "Add folder": go into the folder and click Open to add everything
in it (switch on "Subfolders too" first to include those too).
   - You can also drag files or a folder onto SFP-BatchPrinter.exe itself.
2. Put them in order: drag rows up or down, or use the arrow buttons,
Sort A-Z or Reverse. Click a file to see it in the Preview panel.
3. Choose the printer, copies, paper and which pages to print (all, first
page only, odd, even, or a custom range like 1-3, 5, 8-).
4. Optional: type words in the filter box (e.g. invoice, receipt) and pick
"Only print matching" or "Skip matching".
5. Click PRINT ALL, check the "Ready to print" summary (files, pages, sheets
of paper) and click "Print now".
Pause waits after the current file; Stop ends the batch after it.
Keys: Ctrl+O add files, Ctrl+Shift+O add folder, Ctrl+P print,
Delete remove, F1 help.

For every file the app follows the job through the Windows print queue:
"Sending..." > "Queued - job #12" > "Printing" > "Printed" (green).
The next file is sent only after the previous one has been confirmed.
If the printer reports a problem (paper out, jam, wrong paper size, offline,
paused queue) the batch pauses and asks you what to do:
keep waiting, send the file again, skip it, or stop.

When the batch ends you get a summary. "Reprint Failed" sends the failed and
skipped files again.

DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTING
---------------------
Double-sided: "Yes - by hand" is for printers that can't print both sides by
themselves (like the Canon G3070):
 1. Set "Sheets per stack" to how many sheets you want to handle at a time
(1 to 20; the maximum is 20 so the tray is never overloaded).
Example: 20 sheets of fronts print, you turn those 20 over, the 20
backs print, then the next 20 sheets.
 2. Click PRINT ALL. For each stack the app asks you to load blank paper,
prints the FRONT sides, then tells you to take the printed sheets, turn
the stack over and put it back. Then it prints the BACK sides.
 3. Files with an odd number of pages get an empty back, so every file starts
    on a new sheet.
FIRST TIME: click "Test double-sided..." (uses 2 sheets). It prints pages
1-4 and asks whether page 2 ended up on the back of page 1, the right way up.
Answer honestly and the app adjusts "Back sides print in" and "turn the
stack" for your printer. Run it again until it says both are correct.
Only PDFs can be double-sided by hand; images and Office files in the same
batch print one-sided afterwards. "Yes - automatic" is for printers with a
built-in duplex unit.

PAPER
-----
"Printer's default paper" (recommended) prints every PDF on the paper size
set in the printer's Windows settings (shown next to the box, e.g. Letter).
Pages of other sizes (e.g. A4 invoices) are shrunk to fit. This stops
printers halting with a "paper size mismatch". You can also force Letter, A4
or Legal.

LOGS (for troubleshooting)
--------------------------
The activity log at the bottom of the window shows each step. Every batch
is also saved in the "logs" folder ("Open Logs Folder" button):
batch-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.log step-by-step details (send this for support)
batch-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.csv one line per file with its result (opens in Excel)

WHAT IT PRINTS
--------------
- PDF : printed silently by the built-in SumatraPDF
- JPG PNG BMP GIF TIF TIFF : fitted to the page, auto-rotated (phone photos
come out the right way up), multi-page TIFFs
- DOC/DOCX XLS/XLSX PPT/PPTX TXT RTF : printed by the program installed for
that file type (e.g. Microsoft Office).
For invoices, PDF is the most reliable.

TROUBLESHOOTING
---------------
"Printed" but nothing came out:
Windows handed the job to the printer, but the printer dropped it. This
happens with Wi-Fi printers that Windows set up automatically. Fix:
Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > click the
printer > Remove, then "Add device" to add it again. The app finds it
again automatically if the name is unchanged.

Printer shows OFFLINE:
Turn the printer on, check it is on the same Wi-Fi as the PC, then click
  "Refresh".

"Old print jobs found" when printing:
Earlier jobs are stuck in the Windows queue. Choose "Cancel old jobs,
then print", or use "Open Print Queue" to look at them.

"Windows protected your PC" when opening the app:
Click "More info" > "Run anyway".

Opened from inside the zip and PDFs fail:
Right-click the zip > Extract All, and run it from the extracted folder.
